Day Two of Stir Up The Gift Challenge: The Apostolic Spirit.Â
Day 2 Devotional: The Apostolic Spirit.Â
The apostolic anointing helps to keep the Church current and relevant with each changing generation, without compromise. Outdated and outmoded ways of ministry must be changed in order to effectively touch each new generation. The spirit of reformation is the spirit of change; it contains the new thing that the Lord is doing in any given era. Reformation blesses and strengthens the Church and keeps the Church moving toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Along with this discernment comes the anointing to bring the Church into that proper form. This is one of the apostle’s functions in the Church. Apostles are concerned with biblical order. If the Church is not in the correct form, the apostle will come in the spirit of the reformer to bring reformation to the Church.
Reformation is not new. The Lord spoke of it as early as the book of Leviticus, when the Hebrews were still in the desert: “And if by these things you are not reformed by Me, but walk contrary to Me, then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins” (Leviticus 26:23–24). The beginning of the New Covenant and the establishment of the Church through the apostles was also a time of reformation.
We are in a season now of reformation. In order for a reformation to take place that means there is something that is deformed that needs to be shaped again. I am in a constant place to find and search for God to bring people into my life that will walk this journey of reformation of the prophetic and apostolic with me. This is why I know it’s no accident that you are here in this challenge. Activating, stirring and looking for a fresh impartation of the gift of God in your life!
